Licensed Marriage & Family therapist  |  Licensed professional counselor

Dylan Davies, M.A., LPC, LMFT is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Central Austin that specializes in sex and couples therapy with particular interest in modern analytic interpersonal group therapy as well as long-term individual psychoanalytic therapy. Additionally, she enjoys helping couples cultivate and refine the art of eroticism in their relationships. Her mission is to help her clients explore the paradoxes of sex and intimacy, prioritize pleasure and create more vitality in their lives - in and out of the bedroom. In addition to her clinical work, Dylan is a dedicated advocate for de-stigmatizing mental and sexual healthcare and is adamant about navigating the intersections of sex therapy and medical care so her clients don't have to. She worked as the staff sex therapist during her practicum at North Austin Urology in 2015 and continues to collaborate with top-notch medical providers to offer the best, most thorough, wraparound care for her clients presenting with complex sexual issues.

Dylan is passionate about bringing educational opportunities to clinicians and healthcare providers as well as providing short or long-term professional consultation to psychotherapists both locally and nationally. Two years ago, she co-founded the Austin-based Southwest Sexual Health Alliance and in the coming year, she will be refocusing her energy into offering experiential and didactic workshops for students and therapists about sexual health and couples sex therapy. Dylan is on the board of the Austin Psychoanalytic Society (Austin Psychoanalytic) serving for 2018-2020 and is on the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Committee for the Austin Group Psychotherapy Society (AGPS).

She completed her internship at IPNB Psychotherapy and took part in extensive training in interpersonal neurobiology. Her work is heavily influenced by systems theory and the relational/modern analytic approach. She anchors her work on the principles of integrity, genuineness, playfulness, collaboration and professional competence. She draws inspiration from the work of Terry Real, Esther Perel and Doug Braun-Harvey and continues take part in trainings that enhance her clinical skills whenever possible. She attempts to live her life as she urges her clients to - authentically, fearlessly and imperfectly.
